Curriculum

Overview

Here at St. Isidore we offer a full- day and half- day 3 and 4 year-old Blended Preschool program.

We begin by exploring different classroom themes. Throughout these themes we will cover Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Physical Development and Health, The Arts, and Social/ Emotional Development. The Illinois State Early Learning and Development Standards along with the Diocese of Joliet Standards will be used to guide  the learning to make sure each child is on their way to gaining
the skills they need to insure success in their future.

Literacy

Religion

We use the Roland Readings Foundations "Happily Every After" Reading series.  There are many different activities covered within this series. Each student will complete the weekly activities that coincide with "Happily Ever After" and are developmentally appropriate for that child.
Religion plays a fundamental role here at St. Isidore School. We use the Benzinger series, "Stories of God's Love", for 4 and 5 year olds.  Throughout this program we will be discovering and exploring the Catholic Faith through Bible stories and related activities.  We use Pflaum Gospel Weeklies on Friday, to prepare for the week-end Liturgy.

preschool Daily Activities

Our Preschool activities vary from day to day.  Each day includes Morning Work, Rugtime, Literacy Learning, Center work, Religion, Snack Time, STEAM activities, Recess, Lunch, Rest Time, Story, and various other large and small group activities.
Each child will have Gym once a week.  STEAM activities include Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, Movement and Music.  Our days are very busy, with plenty of fun-filled learning activities throughout the day, whether your child is full-day or half-day.
